Family Photoshoot strait out of a storybook - Washington Family Photographer
Artist Point, My favorite! Being there feels like standing at the edge of the world — a place where the earth stretches open and breathes. Nestled high in the North Cascades, this spot offers one of Washington’s most breathtaking views: a panorama of jagged peaks, shimmering snowfields, and endless sky.
Up there, the noise of life fades away. You can hear the wind move across glaciers, smell the alpine air, and feel the hush that only comes from true wilderness. It feels like your in a painting. And it’s such a short walk from the parking lot to get to these views. The whole loop is around a mile.
The weather is a little wild. Tons of mosqitos to put up with this year in July(worth it), but August they were mellow. September and October make absolutely gorgeous fall backdrop, but as you get later the weather gets a little more dicey. August and September is my favorite time to be up there, and October is also beautiful.
I am so absolutely grateful this family found me. They were so adventurous and kind. We laughed so much as we explored. The girls toughed out the chill. The dogs were mind blowingly good (my dog needs to take notes) This dad wins all of the awards for best husband and dad. Mom and I continued to text for months after the session. It just felt like a walk with friends. Thank you universe!
Let your children play, hold each other close, and let the light find you. Nature has already set the stage — all you have to do is show up and be yourselves. Earth tones are my favorite. Everyone knows I love a long flowy dress, unless that isn’t you. Bring sweaters or wraps, hats, a guitar, anything that captures your personality. Don’t forget the bug spray and a snack.
When we choose to photograph your family in nature, we’re capturing more than how you look — we’re preserving how it felt. The love, the laughter, the grounding energy of being together under open sky. When we step outside for portraits, we leave behind the walls, the noise, the daily rhythm of busy lives — and return to something simpler, older, and more true.
One day, when you look back on these images, you’ll remember not just the faces — but the air, the light, and the way your hearts felt so full.
Now booking for Artists Point for 2026! Gulp. That date feels so extra futuristic. It’s an adventure, a long drive and a short hike. Get a cabin and make a weekend of it. I like shooting up there on weekdays best, as it gets pretty busy on those beautiful days.
Artists Point Sessions are $1300.00 and include up to 100 images and a short video. We shoot and adventure for an hour and a half.
So let’s step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and let the wild beauty of the world wrap around us.
Thank you for being here!
