Bell Rock Sedona Women Empowerment Photoshoot

Photoshoot in the Vortex Sedona Arizona

THE VORTEX SEDONA ARIZONA

In Sedona, a “vortex” refers to a place where people believe the earth’s energy is especially strong and concentrated.

It’s not something you can see like a landmark — it’s something you feel.

Is It Real?

Scientifically, vortex energy isn’t proven in a measurable way.

But experientially? Many people genuinely feel something.

Whether it’s the stillness, the beauty, the scale of the landscape, or simply giving yourself space to slow down — the effect can be very real on a personal level.

For this shoot we brought three dresses and a few props. We started out with movement, feeling the wind, dancing. We burned a little sage. I love to listen to music during photoshoots but only when there are not people around- I am a respectful human. Here people just passed by once and a while even thought Bell Rock is a busy place, so we played the playlist.

MOVEMENT During YouR PHotoshooT

Stillness can feel awkward — movement creates flow. I do love a quiet still image, but I will often tell you to sway back and forth or throw your dress, or spin, walk.

Ideas

  • Walk slowly toward or away from the camera

  • Shift your weight from one foot to the other

  • Turn your body gently instead of holding one position

Think: subtle, continuous motion rather than stopping and posing.

BELL ROCK SEDONA

Bell Rock is made primarily of red sandstone, formed over millions of years.

Its layers were created during the Permian period, when this area was covered by ancient seas and shifting sand dunes. Over time, erosion shaped the formation into its distinct bell-like silhouette — though depending on the angle, many people say it looks more like a courthouse or layered dome. Standing here barefoot is something to behold!

We shoot for 90 minutes, maybe a little longer. In Sedona we start out in the sunshine, so we focus more on a “light” witch” look. Lighter colors, nature props, movement. I guide and pose you. Choose a flowy dress to create movement and emotion. Make sure you wear colors that go with the landscape. Ivory, Antique Pink, a deep yellow, teal, blue, and black. I love to end in black but we can shoot black any of the time.

My sessions are $1100. I bring props and guide you the entire time. I have some dresses, we can talk. I have a few capes:) Bring anything meaningful that you can pack in (this location is a 25 minute short hike and it’s my favorite)

Yes I take payments!

I love shooting barefoot - bring some flip flops so you can walk and then kick them off. We change out in nature:) This location is super private.

I take a $200 deposit to hold the date. The rest is due the day we shoot. You can pay more of a deposit if you want to break up the price a little.

You will see 20 or so sneak peeks from our shoot the next day (usually unless I am leaving town) and my turn around time is 5-8 weeks.

My favorite Sedona Make up Artist is

The Gold Dress is from JOYFOLIE The black dress and cape are from HOLY CLOTHING
