A West Seattle Family Photoshoot at Lincoln Park: The Magic of Watching Kids Grow
There is something incredibly special about being a family photographer and having the opportunity to photograph the same family year after year. Getting to watch their children grow, seeing their personalities unfold, and documenting the little moments that make their family uniquely theirs is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do as a photographer.
This sweet family is one I’ve had the joy of working with for years, and every time we meet for another photoshoot, I’m reminded of just how quickly time passes. The little ones who once fit so perfectly into their parents’ arms grow into their own little people, full of personality, curiosity, and opinions about how a photoshoot should go. And as a photographer, getting to document those changes is a gift I never take for granted. I am so grateful for this family and all of the families who hire me year after year.
Lincoln Park in West Seattle Is Magical Summer
If you’re looking for a beautiful location for family photos in West Seattle, Lincoln Park is one of my absolute favorites. Especially in late summer, this incredible West Seattle location offers the perfect combination of towering evergreen trees, beautiful forest trails, and a beautiful small beach just one minute away.
There is a little bit of everything here, which makes it such a wonderful location for a family photoshoot. We can wander through the trees for those cozy, intimate images, find beautiful pockets of light, , and then make our way toward the water for a completely different feel.
The beauty of returning to a photographer you know and trust is that your children don't have to be perfect. They don't have to sit still the entire time or smile on command. They can play, explore, be silly, and show their personalities. My job as a photographer is to create space for those moments and preserve them just as they are.
And when I get to photograph a family for years, I have the incredible privilege of seeing those moments become part of a much bigger story.
Watching children explore their surroundings is one of my favorite things about being a family photographer. Their excitement is contagious, their curiosity is endless, and they have a wonderful way of reminding us that the best moments aren't always the ones we plan.
This session was a full hour and a half session but I do have other options. Check the links below, and thanks for being here! -Dawndra
