Belle Mente Early Learning School Portraits - Seattle Pre K Boutique Photographer

Early Childhood Education, the future faces of Seattle and America! I absolutely love photographing this age. I do my best to get as many expressions out of the kids as I can in the tiny time slot that I have to get it. Since I am myself a giant kid, I somehow (mostly) succeed. This year we played music and made it as fun as possible for the kids.

I’ve been photographing Belle Mente Early Learning School for over a decade now, and it is one of my favorite times of the year. These sweet faces, I can’t get enough. Family photography is my main passion, and these kids have the coolest families attached to them. I am grateful to see many of these children outside of this during their family photo shoots in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

I’m keeping this blog short and sweet, and letting these faces at Bella Mente Early Learning Center speak for themselves.

Believe me, I would have posted EVERY ONE OF THEIR faces if I could have post that long!

Thank you Bella Mente for having me again!

The way it works if you want me at your school…

An email gets sent to out to the parents asking if they want to partake in the photos. This blog can be in that email (heyyyy!)

It’s $80 per kiddo and we TRY to get 5-10 different faces/expressions. It’s possible we fail, but we can try again later in the day or the next day- if I am there multiple days. If there are siblings, it’s still 80 each, but you get a couple of photos of them together.

Parents fill out a form with their kids name(s) their emails, and a check or cash gets attached to the form (easy to keep track of who paid)

Class photos take place outside or in classrooms as my backdrops are big enough for 2 kids. Timing for that is set by teachers/school. I’m happy to pick the spot. for that.

I come early one day and set up, kids start rolling in at 9 or 10 for photos. A teacher (or someone at the school) coordinates all of the times/ kids.

At Bella Mente I worked with 55 kids and I was there for three mornings, the first two from 9-12 and the third day was for make up day and I just had 3-4 kids who were out sick or missed the photo day (or cried:)

Photos are edited by hand and take a little time to get back.

I used to have a checked box if it was ok to share the images on my website or Instagram, but I no longer share the images at all.

Each kiddo gets photographed for a few minutes each. The babies sometimes really don’t love the backdrops- and in the past we have tried that first, and then if failed, we go to the classroom for photos.

My turn around time is fairly long unfortunately, -8-10 weeks. I do boutique style images and I edit the kids faces as far as scrapes cuts ect -

Ususally one teacher has a big list and keeps track as we shoot and marks the kids off in order we shot and I get that list after in order so that I know which form goes with each kiddo. Each child gets a gallery of their own sent to the parents.

THANK YOU!
