Now Offering One Hour Sessions at Lincoln Park West Seattle - Family Photoshoot With Dogs

Family Photos With Dogs West Seattle

WOW! Such a fun session with the coolest couple and their two pups—so much personality, so much love, and just the best energy all around. These are the kind of shoots that don’t feel like work at all, just good people, good dogs, and moments that naturally unfold. I am so honored to tell this story.

Dog People Are My People

For some, dogs are the kids—and that kind of love deserves to be seen and celebrated just the same. They’re your daily routines, your comfort, your adventure partner, the one waiting for you at the door and curled up beside you at the end of the day. When you have dogs instead of kids, your life is still full of connection, care, and meaning—just in a different, equally beautiful way. Including them in your photos isn’t a substitute for anything—it’s honoring this. The joy, the chaos, the unconditional love… the way they’re woven into your story as family. These two have senior dogs, which I love. The one hour package was perfect to shoot 40 minutes in the forest and 20 minutes on the beach as it got closer to sunset.

This shoot, these people, and these dogs - AMAZING.

One Hour Photo Session at Lincoln Park

I recently decided to add a package to my portrait sessions. One Hour at Lincoln Park, a half way mark between the 30 minute “mini” session, and the 90 minute full session. I will talk more about these options at the end of the blog.

MY STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

My photography isn’t about perfection—it’s about feeling. The way light spills in, the softness of a moment, the quiet in-between that often goes unnoticed. There may be sunbeams, a little grain, images that aren’t perfectly sharp—but that’s where the emotion lives. I’m not chasing flawless, I’m capturing what it felt like to be there. The images go well in a story. I suggest a collage or a book.

PRO TIP!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO SMILE AND LOOK AT THE CAMERA THE WHOLE TIME!

I love photographing the connection between you and your family- and this results in more meaningful images. So you don’t have to constantly make the kids say cheese and look at me:) Let me be the boss! Never fear, I do get that smiling looking at camera shot, but not the whole session.

ONE HOUR PORTRAIT SESSION (LINCOLN PARK ONLY)

Lincoln Park in West Seattle, 60 minutes, 60 edited images

$850

This one works great if you want forest and the beach. The beach is a one minute drive from the parking lot at Lincoln Park. The beach portion is usually about 20 minutes and as close to sunset as possible.

Full sessions are amazing for a few reasons. Let’s say we are at Lincoln Park- we are free shoot in different areas of the forest, and also shoot down at the beach, adding diversity to your gallery. Many of my family sessions take an hour and a half, and a lot of the magic happens in the middle or later in the session when the kids warm up. Minis are more smiling and looking at the camera, and full sessions you get much more connection.

Mini Sessions take place at Lincoln Park in West Seattle.

INCLUDED:

  • A beautifully edited online gallery with 60 edited images

  • 60 minutes shooting time

  • Style Guidance

  • Any style of portraits including Senior, newborn (in summer) family,

With a full session, we can walk around and dance and play. You can bring multiple outfits, blankets, snacks. If you choose that we shoot at Lincoln Park- we can add the beach at the end and walk to different areas of the park. Other shooting options- Rattlesnake Lake, Discovery Park, Artists Point, Whidbey Island- so many choices.

YOU CAN ADD A SECOND FAMILY TO A FULL SESSION FOR $150 extra

How long until we get the photos?

Usually 4-6 weeks, but you will see “sneak peaks in the days that follow our session.

Can we order prints?

I hope you do. You can order awesome professional prints or a book even right from your gallery.

How and when do we pay?

$100 deposit to hold your spot for minis, $250 for full and one hour sessions. Full payment is due the day of the shoot- cash or Venmo, Zelle, or invoice.

Also, I will pose and guide you the entire time. Let’s have some fun!

My photography style is not having you just smiling and looking at the camera(although we do get those shots), I love to focus on the CONNECTION between you. I will help you I promise!

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

We live in the great PNW, so rain happens. We just reschedule, no biggie! If it’s calling for a little sprinkle, we may make the call to just go for it. We can text about it, I’m easy.

What do we wear?

EARTH TONES work wonderful in the forest. Rust, light blue, grey, browns, burgundy is great, mustard, ivory. I love ivory. These colors work so well in the green trees. If you wear green - it will blend in with the backdrop. The background is dark green, so don’t wear that:) But a sage or a light green can work.

I LOVE EARTH TONES YOU GUYS. I SAY IT AGAIN. Lighter colors stand out in the dark trees.

Need to wear black though? I get it! Rock and Roll? BE THAT! These are guidelines not rules. Darker colors tend to get lost in the trees.

But, if you want to POP out of the background wear lighter colors. Black looks great on the beach. That being said, BE YOU!

You can wear patterns -but be mindful. If dad wears a flannel and holds baby in a flower pattern, it can clash. We want eyes on the subject not racing all over the image. Dad with flannel and little one with different flannel, can burn your eyes(laugh emoji)
